Discover Raíz Sintra, a super relaxed restaurant, with tasty food and live music on selected days.
THE SINTRA ROOT RESTAURANT
Located in the historic center of Sintra, Restaurante Raíz Sintra is a fun and delicious option for snacks, sandwiches and drinks. With delicious food made with fresh ingredients, the dishes served are colorful and nutritious. In addition to the indoor lounge, the restaurant has a super charming outdoor deck with some covered areas to protect customers from rainy days even outside. The place is very friendly, colorful, offers free wifi and allows pets.
On selected days, the restaurant has nights with live music in different styles, making the atmosphere even more lively and inviting for a drink and a snack. To stay on top of the musical programming, follow the restaurant's social media.
THE SINTRA ROOT RESTAURANT'S MENU
The restaurant's menu offers options for snacks, sandwiches, salads, traditional burgers and vegetables, bowls, fish and a huge variety of drinks and cocktails. The menu is super democratic and there are several vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.
OUR EXPERIENCE AT THE SINTRA ROOT
We were at Restaurante Raíz Sintra and we liked the atmosphere, the food (several vegan options) and the service so much, that we ended up going back! The place is super tasty, a little hidden, but very lively. Arriving at the place, you have to go down the stairs to access the patio area and the inner hall. The first time we went for dinner, there was live music going on, but we hadn't made a reservation and there were no more tables outside. The next day we went back there at lunchtime, with the reservation made and we got a table on the outside patio, but there was no live music.
For starters, we ordered a super hot and cold sangria to enjoy the hot day it was. To snack, we ask Guacamole and chickpea nuggets roast.
I fell in love with a sandwich and ended up ordering it on both occasions, the Tempeh sandwich (with salad, avocado, cherry tomato and red onion). Paulo varied: on the first day he chose a Chili Burger W/ Wrap + Avocado Sauce and French Fries and, in the second, he asked for a Tofu sandwich (just like mine, but replacing tempeh with tofu).
We ended up not ordering dessert because we were quite satisfied, but we were told that there was an option for a sorbet (ice cream without animal milk). Both times we left super happy with our meals. The experience on both days was great and we would go back there many more times!
