ACCOMMODATION IN LISBON: BROWN'S DOWNTOWN
Whenever we look for accommodation options in a city, we take into account the price, location, services offered and reviews made by other guests who have already had experiences at the place. That's how, after a lot of searching, we found an option that seemed excellent, the Brown's Downtown Hotel, which as its name says, is in the center of the city, in a prime location, a few meters from Baixa-Chiado metro station (blue and green lines), close to historic places such as Praça do Comércio and Arco da Augusta, Santa Justa Elevator, Rossio Square, Lisbon Cathedral and São Jorge Castle.
Brown's Downtown is a 3 star hotel of 5 floors with 36 rooms, which has a 24 hour reception. he was all renewed and has accommodation with modern decor. All the Rooms feature an iMac and an iPad for free use by guests. O wifi is also available for free and it is of great quality. Furthermore, they have fridge, electric kettle and Nespresso coffee machine (coffees and teas are available for in-room consumption). In the hotel lobby is a machine that sells some drinks and snacks and a coffee machine that provides free coffee all day. It is possible to check out until noon!
WHAT WAS OUR EXPERIENCE AT THE HOTEL?
We arrived at lunchtime and as the hotel was full it was not possible to go to the room early. However, we already checked in with a super attentive employee who commented on all the benefits we would have during our stay. We had already contacted the hotel previously talking about the Viajonários blog and they promised us an unforgettable stay. And they really did what they promised! When we got to the room, (which, although it has a compact size, is brand new and cozy) a bottle of portuguese wine with two glasses was waiting for us.
The hotel gave us complimentary a meal (lunch or dinner) at the Restaurant Brown's Bistro (R. da Vitória 88, 1100-571 Lisbon, Portugal) where another hotel unit is also located. Brown's Boutique Hotel & Apartments a few meters from each other. That's where delicious and filling Breakfast (or breakfast term used by the Portuguese), which was included in our rate, was served. Breads, croissants, fruits, cold cuts, yogurt, cereals, juices, coffees, teas…the breakfast was delicious! The hotel also provided us with a voucher that was worth a 10% discount on any meal we had at the restaurant during our stay.
In this way, we cannot fail to recommend the Brown's Downtown Hotel, as we would stay again without a doubt. It met all the requirements that we considered important: excellent location, services (quality internet, quality breakfast, renovated and cozy room, polite and helpful staff) and excellent reviews made by other guests (it is rated 8.9 in the Booking.com). Our stay in Lisbon was excellent and made our stay in the city even more special.
