O cake boss It's already a phenomenon in Brazil, isn't it? It all started with the Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1910 and, a few decades later, became a TV show watched by thousands of people around the world. Recently the “Cake Boss”, Buddy Valastro, was in Brazil and caused a stir! There are several bakery locations across the US, with locations in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and, of course, Las Vegas!
It's there at the hotel The Venetian, our favorite in Vegas, which are located both Carlo's Bakery, the cake and sweets shop and, right in front, the Cake Boss restaurant called Buddy V's – Cannolis & Raviolis. We took advantage of our last visit to Las Vegas in the middle of the American summer to taste the delights of this culinary master.
CAKE BOSS RESTAURANT
The restaurant is inspired by Buddy's family gatherings and recipes that were passed down by his mother, grandmother and aunts. The menu features blends of Italian and American cuisine, as well as Buddy's family favorites. The idea is precisely to provide an environment where the customer feels like eating at mama's house! The environment is very cozy.
THE MENU
THE DINNER
You can't go with a good pasta without a good wine, right? We are fans of Cabernet Sauvignon, as it is stronger, and we made our pasta choices for dinner.
A basket of rolls with delicious herbs and grissini (those sticks of bread dough) are served. We also ordered a gratin garlic bread to start.
The garlic bread comes in a very generous slice of Italian bread, lots of gratin cheese and seasonings! A delight! The main dishes chosen by us were: Nonna's Lasagna al Forno (Grandma's Lasagna in the oven) and Chicken Rigattoni “Alla Vodka”.
The dishes are delicious and very generous, so we ended up eating a lot! Unfortunately, there was no space left for us to taste the dessert, which was left for a next occasion.
THE GOLDEN TIP
It is to be expected that you will hardly get a vacant table at Cake Boss's restaurant without a reservation. So use and abuse the excellent Open Table, which we love and use a lot. Download the mobile app and enjoy.

I was today (21/4/2016) in this restaurant after reading the post! Thanks for the tip. We chose to have lunch. I made the reservation at the open table, but when we arrived around 2 pm, there were many vacant tables. We also ordered the bread and the lasagna (one just to share) delicious!! But it wasn't big enough to share. At least ours came smaller than the photo. Good that we can order dessert this way!!
Hello Cybele! Thanks for sharing your experience!
During the week at lunch time the restaurant is usually quieter. It's harder to get a seat on weekends and at night. We are very happy to hear about your lunch!
A great trip and enjoy Las Vegas! :)
