Santa Cruz, a beautiful coastal city in California, has beautiful places to visit, but it also has delicious places to eat! In this post we will give you some tasty tips for places we have eaten in the city! And isn't there a Brazilian restaurant in Santa Cruz?
TIPS ON WHERE TO EAT IN SANTA CRUZ
1. LAGO DI COMO RISTORANTE & PIZZERIA
- Cuisine: italian
- Address: 21490 E Cliff Dr, Santa Cruz, CA 95062
This was the restaurant we chose for our 7th wedding anniversary dinner. It's delicious Italian! Buns with olive oil at the entrance that we love! There we ate one of the most delicious pasta in life that was not on the menu, but it was a suggestion from the chef the day we were there: ravioli alla Eric. It's a ravioli stuffed with smoked pork, pesto sauce and the final touch is a seasoned tomato like those in bruschetta, simply a spectacle! And there was potato gnocchi with four cheese sauce too. Finally, a petit gateau.
2. MIRAMAR FISH GROTTO
- Cuisine: Seafood
- Address: 45 Municipal Wharf, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
This restaurant is located on Santa Cruz Wharf, that pier full of shops and restaurants that we mentioned in previous post over Santa Cruz. It was unforgettable to have dinner in front of the sea watching the sunset over the city. The service is great and the food is delicious too.
3. KIANTI'S PIZZA & PASTA BAR
- Cuisine: italian
- Address: 1100 Pacific Ave, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
We found this restaurant on our first visit to the city, which was very quick, just for lunch. It is right in the center of the city and is a corner restaurant where you can eat both inside and at tables outside. It offers individual-sized pastas and pizzas with American flavor.

4. IHOP
- Cuisine: American
- Address: 1549 41st Ave, Capitola, CA 95010
Judge us, but we love having breakfast at IHOP. We already talked about this restaurant previously and we couldn't resist the typical American coffee with eggs, bacon and so many other treats. There is no IHOP in Santa Cruz, but in the town of Capitola which is right next door.
5. COFFEE BRAZIL
- Cuisine: Brazilian
- Address: 1410 Mission St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
This was a tip that an Israeli friend of Paulo's who lived in Santa Cruz gave us. Luciana owns the place and served us with great care and attention. We liked it so much that we went twice: for breakfast and for lunch! There are several typical Brazilian foods such as feijoada, steak on horseback. On the day we went, the special dish was beef, chicken or shrimp stroganoff!
There are many interesting restaurants in the city and these were the ones we had the pleasure to know and we approved of the food! Wow, mouth watering writing this post! 😀

I suggest the Silver Spur breakfast when I get back to Santa Cruz. The food at Riva Fish House (also on the municipal wharf) has very interesting and cheaper dishes than at Miramar. The cioppino is very good.
Marcelo, what a great comment! Thanks a lot for the tips!
We will try to stop by when we visit the city again!
