We've eaten at several Bella Italia units inside and outside London.
  • 3. CARLUCCIO'SFounder Antonio Carluccio had, since the opening of the chain's first restaurant, offer great quality authentic Italian food at reasonable prices and in a lively atmosphere. The restaurant is very traditional in London and has a menu full of delicacies.

  • 4. FRANCO MANCAThis is an excellent place for anyone looking for delicious pizza to taste. Since 2008, the restaurant has been offering slow-rising sourdough pizzas and seasonal ingredients from small vendors. The dough is made daily on site and the pizzas start at just £5.
  • 5. FRANKIE & BENNY'S: This is an Italian-American restaurant much like some Italian restaurants found in the United States. While the food isn't one of our favorites, the prices are affordable.
  • 6. GARFUNKELSWe decided to put Garfunkels on the list because their units are located in tourist locations and for that reason they attract a lot of visitors. The menu is quite varied, with options for starters, pizzas, pasta, hamburgers, and typical British dishes. In other words, there are options for all tastes. However, we found the food a bit bland and of inferior quality.

  • 8. EXPRESS PIZZA: Menu filled with pizzas, plus pasta, salads and delicious starters. The menu also has low-calorie options and pizzas.  vegans, like the Vegan Giardineira!   • 9. PIZZA PILGRIMS: Pizza Pilgrims is committed to serving legitimate Neapolitan pizzas, with quality ingredients and soft and tasty crust. The margherita pizza is all special!
  • 10. PREZZOPrezzo uses authentic Italian recipes to bring a touch of Italy to the UK. From bubbly pizzas and delicious pasta to traditional bruschetta and classic Tiramisu, the customer will be taken directly on a gastronomic tour of the Amalfi Coast. We've eaten at several locations in and around London.
  • 11. SPAGHETTI HOUSECreated by friends Simone Lavarini and Lorenzo Fraquelli, Spaghetti House was founded in London in 1955, serving Italian food to generations of Londoners and visitors alike. Today, it is still a family business with the 2nd generation of the Lavarini family at the helm. The chain is not among our favorites for Italian food, but it offers a wide variety of dishes at very affordable prices.
  • 12. STRADAWe have already eaten at two Strada units in London and the experience has always been pleasant. The restaurant serves authentic food with all the Italian charm and friendly service. The menu includes items from delicious starters to ready-made pasta, handmade pizzas and healthy salads.
  • 13. VAPIANO: Vapiano was founded in 2002 in Hamburg, Germany. Two years later, the founders decided to put Vapiano on a world tour as a concept franchise. Today there are already 200 Vapianos in over 33 countries on 5 continents, with many more planned for the future. Pasta, pizza, antipasti and salads are ordered directly from the chefs at the restaurant's individual stations. The chefs prepare all the dishes in front of the customers.

  • 14. ZIZZI: This is another restaurant that we have been to on several occasions and we love the quality of the dishes. Zizzi was born in 1999 and currently has over 140 restaurants across the UK and Ireland. The food is inspired by authentic Italian dishes and the signature pizzas are hand-stretched to create a larger, thinner and crunchier base, then loaded with delicious topping combinations. There are even vegan options on the menu, such as the delicious Vegan Classic Pizza.

  • 24. JAMON JAMONThe first restaurant opened in the 1950s, known as George and Nicky's. In 2001, the restaurant was changed to a spanish tapas bar. In Spain, jamóns (hams) are traditionally made on local family farms and it is this special flavor that the restaurant seeks to offer customers. We visited the unit Angel, Islington and we love the quality of the tapas, the atmosphere and the service.
  • 25. NANDO'S: The Nando's chain was founded by the Portuguese in South Africa in 1987. It specializes in Portuguese style chicken dishes with peri-peri pepper marinades. Currently, there are more than a thousand units of the restaurant spread across 30 different countries, with 350 of them in the United Kingdom.

  • 26. TAPAS TOASTMonika Linton, founder and owner, has always been curious about Spain and the spanish cuisine. In 1988, she started the company Brindisa, selling her products to London chefs. It later opened its first store in London's famous and historic Borough Market. In 2009, it was time to expand into a Spanish tapas bar. To this day, she continues to travel constantly to Spain to bring to London new ingredients and recipes for restaurants.

The style is all simple, and the sandwich comes wrapped in aluminum foil. Don't forget to order delicious fries to go with it.

  • 39. PHOFounders Stephen and Juliet Wall opened the first Pho in June 2005 after they traveled to Vietnam and fell in love with vietnamese cuisine. Pho is still a family run business serving good quality Vietnamese food, healthy vegetarian options, which are cooked daily with fresh ingredients.
  • 40. WAGAMMAFounded in 1992 and inspired by Japanese ramen bars, Wagamama seeks to bring the fresh and nutritious flavors of Asia to everyone.
