Leadenhall Market is quite different from what can be understood as a market. With incredible architecture, the iconic covered market in London was even the setting for one of Harry's films. In addition to being beautiful, the market is still full of shops and delicious restaurants!
LEADENHALL MARKET: THE ICONIC COVERED MARKET IN LONDON
Leadenhall Market is a covered market in the City of London area (financial district) with pedestrian access. It is one of the oldest markets in the city, dating back to the 14th century and is at the center of what was Roman London. In its origins, Leandenhall Market was a market that sold game and poultry. Currently, the market sells fresh food, meat, flowers, as well as other shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. In 1666, during the great fire that destroyed much of the city, the site was also damaged. Starting in 1881, with a design by Sir Horace Jones, the market was renovated.
What most attracts visitors' attention is, without a doubt, its Victorian-style architecture. The structure with wrought iron beams and its ornate roof painted in green, brown and cream colors are a real delight! The floor is cobblestone, as in the old streets. Between 1990 and 1991, the market was redecorated, which transformed its appearance, further reinforcing its detailed architectural character.
Below is a map with all the current stores on the market (in blue there are restaurants and food stores; in yellow, the other stores):

TIPS ON WHERE TO EAT
For those who want a quick meal, our tip is the Pizza Express, a very famous chain of pizzerias in London. See more details in the post "United Kingdom: PizzaExpress restaurant chain“. A very cheap option for ready-to-eat snacks is the EAT, also with many units around the city. for those who like Italian food, our recommendation is to Osteria del Mercato, which is on the upper floor, half hidden, but which offers delicious food at a fair price.
