Discover the Ribeira Square Restaurant, located in one of the coolest areas of Porto, Portugal, serving traditional Portuguese food.
RIBEIRA SQUARE RESTAURANT
Located in Praça da Ribeira, Porto's famous tourist area, just a few minutes' walk from the Stock Exchange Palace, the Ribeira Square Restaurant serves traditional Portuguese dishes in an informal, cozy atmosphere with homely decor. In addition to well-known dishes from the local gastronomy, the restaurant has a menu that includes good selections of Port Wine, beers and wines.

The Ribeira Square Restaurant has a very varied menu and includes soups, tapas (cake, bruschetta, snacks, cheese boards), salads, fish, meat, pasta, as well as desserts. The menu already comes with the marking of vegetarian and vegan options to make the customer's life easier. For being in one of the busiest places in the city, it is strongly recommended Reserve in advance to guarantee a good table in the restaurant.
OUR EXPERIENCE AT RIBEIRA SQUARE
We had not made a reservation for the restaurant and had to wait around 5 minutes for a table to vacate before we could be seated. We went up to the top floor where there were wooden tables to be served by a friendly employee. It must be nice to sit by the window, to have a nice view of the square, but we weren't so lucky. This region doesn't have many options for restaurants with vegan dishes and, therefore, we think it's a good idea to try the few options on the Ribeira Square Restaurant menu.

We start with a cover charge (bread, olive oil with balsamic vinegar and oregano, with tuna pâté – which we asked not to come with – and olives), green wine for me and beer for Paulo. While we were waiting for our dishes, we noticed the dishes on the tables next to them, super well served and, apparently, succulent.

The menu includes two vegan dishes and we ordered them: Fried Bean Migas (with bread and kale) and Mushroom Kebab with Peppers (mushroom skewers, peppers, onions, mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables). Dishes were tasty but very small. In fact, they are not complete dishes as the menu suggests, they are actually complements and we were not warned that there would be little food.

If we had known that there would be little food, apart from the Couvert, we would have ordered vegetable soup, chili tapa, mixed salad or even a ratatouille linguini. As we were in a hurry to continue visiting the area (we had a reserved time at Cave Cálem), we ended up not asking for anything else.
