Discover the Odyssey World Cafe Restaurant, a good choice for the hour of hunger in the wine city of Paso Robles, California.
ODYSSEY WORLD CAFE RESTAURANT
The Odyssey World Cafe Restaurant is a restaurant located right in the center of the city, being easily accessible for those visiting Paso Robles. It was founded by Dawn Gregory and John Hawley who were born in the state of New York, lived in many different countries. From these experiences, they realized that the meals they enjoyed most on their trips abroad were not the most sophisticated or expensive, but the meals that connected them to the local culture and people. Odyssey World Cafe seeks to provide a dining experience that combines good food with a simple atmosphere. Although the restaurant started only with take-out, it has been expanded and currently has a lounge with tables and an outdoor area on the sidewalk that was recently expanded to accommodate more people outdoors due to the pandemic. You order at the cashier, and when the order is ready, a waiter takes the dishes to the customer's table.
ODYSSEY WORLD CAFE MENU
In creating Odyssey World Cafe, the owners created a menu that spans their travels and an atmosphere that reflects memories of some of their favorite meals from around the world. During the day, Odyssey World Cafe features sandwiches, salads, tacos, burgers and soups. In the evening, it is common to have a special meal of the day, which can be enjoyed with a delicious glass of local wine.
OUR ODYSSEY WORLD CAFE EXPERIENCE
We arrived in Paso Robles hungry after 3 hours of travel from our home in Silicon Valley. We parked the car in the central square of the city, known as Downtown City Plaza and walked to the Odyssey World Cafe which is close by.
As we were with our dog Luna, we sat at a table on the sidewalk to enjoy the sunny day it was making. Luna is always successful wherever we go because she is beautiful and very docile. Paulo went to get a menu while I moisturized our bigeye who was tired from the trip.
We chose two dishes for our lunch: Paulo was from Impossible Burger (vegetable burger that looks like meat), accompanied by fries (and with some adaptations to make it vegan) and I ordered the Roasted Veggie Wrap (a sheet bread stuffed with eggplant, onions, artichokes, peppers, zucchini, lettuce and olives) with fries (we rarely eat fried foods, but it was an exception day due to hunger). Both were super delicious and were excellent to satisfy that huge hunger on that beautiful day.
The staff at Odyssey World Cafe were super friendly and helpful and of course one of the waitresses couldn't resist Luna's charm and asked to play with her. Dining at the Odyssey World Cafe is a good choice for those looking to have a simple meal, without any frills, as both the atmosphere and the dishes are simple.
