One of the things that takes the most time when planning a trip is which hotel to choose, right? We were full of doubts about where to stay in Zakynthos, but we ended up making our choice. And isn't she right? Check out this tried and tested Zakynthos Island accommodation smart tip!
QUESTION: NORTH OF THE ISLAND OR ZAKYNTHOS TOWN?
When we started planning our trip to Zakynthos, one of the things that left us most in doubt was where we would stay. The best attractions on the island (navagio beach, Blue Caves, Port Limnionas and Blue Lagoons) are all in northern Zakynthos. However, the biggest city and closest to the airport is Zakynthos Town, located in the south east of the island. The decision of where to stay depends a lot on the profile of each one. We love to be in a busier location, where we can enjoy the night to walk, look for a restaurant with calm and that has commercial establishments to buy something if we need to. The north of the island is very isolated, with few accommodation options. That's why we preferred to choose a hotel that was in a more lively place, in Zakynthos Town, and that's how we ended up choosing the Palatine Hotel.

ZAKYNTHOS ISLAND ACCOMMODATION TIP
O Palatine Hotel it is a 4 star hotel very well located, 5 minutes walk from the city center, which is full of restaurants, shops and a city museum. The hotel is very close to the sea, just 50 meters away. Although it is very close to the center, the region in which it is located is very quiet and safe. Inside the hotel, there is a restaurant and bar serving a range of freshly prepared drinks. The rooms are simple but comfortable and all have a balcony. And they all have air conditioning (you can't face the Greek summer without it!) and free wifi too. Some of the rooms have a sea view!

The breakfast is very tasty and varied and can be enjoyed both in the restaurant and on the balcony of the room. In case you need it, room service is open 24 hours a day. The hotel also offers free parking.

OUR EXPERIENCE AT THE HOTEL
We arrived at the airport, rented the car and in a few minutes we were at the hotel which is only 4 km away. We were very well received by two super friendly and helpful Greek staff. We stayed in one of the rooms that had a sea view and it was great to wake up in the morning looking at that Greek blue marzão. An important tip is that, unlike other islands in Greece, Zakynthos does not have such a developed sewage system and, therefore, it is not recommended to throw toilet paper in the toilet, but in the trash.

Through our booking through Booking.com, we were treated to very tasty drinks at the bar located on site. I can say that Piña Colada is very approved! We really liked the comfort and cleanliness of the room, nice shower and also the food at the restaurant. The breakfast was hearty and helped us a lot to start the day with a lot of energy. We would walk to the center of the city to enjoy the Greek night with great comfort. So we didn't have to worry about driving after drinking a little. for sure, the Palatine Hotel is an excellent accommodation option on the island of Zakynthos and we highly recommend it.
